winter's dew, delicately departing from her mother's grasp. wandering through the blanket of gray, a colorless world above.
tumbling, tumbling down. dotting the colorful trees with white and resting on cold fingertips and eyelashes. meets her perch and lies close to the earth. a thin sheet of silk and sheen adorning the frosted, green blades. a sweet and elegant embellishment.

I decided to compose this poem while pondering the interesting weather due tomorrow afternoon. I am so excited about snow!

Beautiful in a unique way...
I was watching "Extraordinary People" the other day and this was one of the episodes I ended up seeing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTKo1YkciS8 (it has three parts).
This thirteen year old girl is SO inspirational! She is a fighter who, no matter the pain or difficulties, survived to receive treatment for her disability and was ultimately able to give God the glory for seeing her through all the trials she experienced.
Though the callous people in her neighborhood called her a "monster", her loved ones saw her through. They never stopped loving her. And neither did Jesus. He held her hand in the "valley of the shadow of death", and "delivered her from evil". For this, she was able to praise Him for saving her life.
What a beautiful person she is.

Blogger Blues...
I have not words of mine own to speak, so I shall share those of another with you.
"By night when others soundly slept
And hath at once both ease and Rest,
My waking eyes were open kept
And so to lie I found it best.
I sought him whom my Soul did Love,
With tears I sought him earnestly.
He bow'd his ear down from Above.
In vain I did not seek or cry.
My hungry Soul he fill'd with Good;
He in his Bottle put my tears,
My smarting wounds washt in his blood,
And banisht thence my Doubts and fears.
What to my Saviour shall I give
Who freely hath done this for me?
I'll serve him here whilst I shall live
And Loue him to Eternity. "
- Anne Bradstreet
I love this poem so much because it depicts a scene in which I find myself very often.
It is an encouraging reminder, though, of how God reaches down, and touches our hearts whenever we are struggling. It's a picture of how personal God is in our everyday lives.
Ponder all that He has done for you. Isn't it truly amazing?

Experimenting with poetry....an expression of the heart in words.
Before a mirror I try to relate this face to the one of the little girl I have replaced.
That little child who giggled and grinned, so filled with joy and love and the quality of innocence I wish she'd kept.
Now she stands so full of confusion and change, a different view of the world she's made. Striving to please, striving for success, longing for acceptance and security.
Will this little girl ever make it?
--- This is something I wrote recently... thought I'd post it.

Dark and Peaceful Void
Sleep, sifting in through her eyelashes, seeping into the soul. Saturating the mind and quieting the spirit. She ponders veiled memories of those departed and slips, slips, into the restful depth of darkness.
-- I composed this short poem the other day when I was drifting off. A picture of the blissfulness of sleep. Hope you enjoyed it!
