Catching falling leaves...

Migrating birds....changing of the color of the trees.....the slow descent of the leaves....isn't God so consistent?

He never fails to bring in each season so gracefully, and for our pleasure and delight. I'm constantly reminded of the blessings God has given us....even in His creation so that we may see His glory through it. :)

Sometimes, I feel like I can't do anything right, like I keep messing up and that I'll never change.

Thankfully though, God is guiding my footsteps, He'll help me to trust His promises to finish the work He's begun in me. I'm not perfect, but He is. I constantly slip and fall, but He'll pick me right back up.

He watches over all of creation with care and love, but He will NOT forget me when I fail to obey or to listen to Him.

Isaiah 40:28-29 says, "Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak."

Just a sweet reminder for you to ponder.

Truly I say to you: ice cream solves all problems. all of them.

Today, I discovered the true value of ice cream.

It was one tough day. Let's just say, alot of things went wrong.

I was very scatter brained and, as a consequence, I forgot to carry out some of my responsibilities in classes as well as in the role of Captain for my volleyball team.

I was pretty frustrated with myself by the time I got home, when BAM! I was smacked with the realization of how much work I have cut out for me for tomorrow..., probably the rest of the weekend and into the beginning of next week before I must return to co-op on Tuesday.

While I was considering this and trying to make up a game plan for my week, I heard one of my family members say ''ice cream" in the context of their conversation. I inquired as to what they were talking about.

To my surprise and utter delight, I was told that we have....vanilla.....ice.....cream.

You can't even understand the complete reversal in my mood that occurred in that moment. I was simply overjoyed. I felt an alleviation of the frustration and despair I had felt prior to hearing this wonderful news.

I can't explain why, but ice cream truly solves all problems. It makes EVERYTHING better. It's just so yummy..... -.-

Thanks to that wonderfully cold bowl of french vanilla ice cream with Hershey's chocolate syrup and fresh bananas on top, I now feel prepared and ready to take on whatever lies before me.

THANK YOU GOD FOR COWS! I love ice cream. Dutch Chocolate or Vanilla mainly, though I could ALWAYS go for a bowl of Oreo ice cream. :)

I just wanted to share this with you, though I understand this love of ice cream is shared by many.

I hope that you are not burdened with as much work I have set aside for myself to do. If you do, grab a bowl of ice cream before you start. You'll feel better. ;)

Have a wonderful Thursday night and rest of the weekend!

The Essence of Fall...

This evening I had the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing time sipping hot apple cider outside with a friend.

We sat on our front porch, looked up at the sapphire blue sky covered with clouds and felt the rush of cold wind over our warm, thick sweaters.

I am thrilled that my favorite season has returned yet again with all its nostalgia.

Here goes...

So, my blog is up and running and I have officially friended and followed everyone in the class. ACCOMPLISHMENT! :) Now, the question; what to post? Well, I've decided to post on the topic of summer. As we transitioned into the beginning of the school year this last week, I mourned the end of that warm, wonderful season but begin to celebrate the beginning of autumn. <3 I anticipate all the wonderful things we enjoy about fall; the turning of the leaves and their descent from the trees, crisp, cool breezes and sweater season!

I am also happy to finally begin the school year as well as our volleyball season! I have so much to look forward to. :)

Finally, I would ask that as the school year picks up and things get busy, that you won't forget to stop by my blog and check out all my stories about fun things I've been up, amusing, short anecdotes and thoughts on evidences of grace in my life.

Happy Sunday!
